Maroon

I see you in every glass of scotch
I’m pouring
By myself on lonely nights
And I can’t help but ask myself
If its maroon slightly resembles
The colours of our scattered souls
Melting into each other,
Fiercely burning.

Just like the bright sun rising in the sky
I know your early morning shades
Could hurt my eyes
Unless I leave this phantasm.
Unlike your chocolate thighs,
This empty bar can’t mend my hollow body.
I clench my teeth as I realise..
It doesn’t get any warmer

Than this.
